Our “friendly” shipping regions include sales taxes and VAT in the shipping costs, which is why some costs are comparatively high.

If you normally receive shipments through EU hubs, message or comment and we’ll check pricing.
For locations outside of North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, the game will primarily be available through local stores through our partnership with VFI, which we hope will save on shipping costs that would have otherwise been very high.

Why is shipping to Europe so expensive?
The shipping prices for this campaign include global freight, distribution center costs, shipping, and local taxes – including VAT in the U.K. and EU. There are different ways that Kickstarter campaigns have handled VAT in the past, some of which used a special exemption for lower-priced items fulfilled from within the EU. That exemption is ending in July of this year, and most Kickstarters fulfilled after that point will reflect, in some way, a ~20%+ VAT on all EU pledges. We have heavily subsidized our actual shipping rates to try to keep your total cost lower, but we realize that the listed shipping costs are higher than on many previous Kickstarters. Unfortunately, we expect this to become standard for projects fulfilling in the U.K. and EU going forward.
We have added bulk pledge pricing that’s heavily subsidized, especially in these areas, if you’re able to put a group buy together.

Will other Genius Games and Artana titles be available through this Kickstarter or the pledge manager?
We will have Cytosis and its upgrade kit + expansion available through the pledge manager, but no other other titles through the pledge manager afterwards. We’ll clarify these prices during the campaign. You can find our games at geniusgames.org (with fulfillment around the world) or through your local game store.

Is there an option for retailers to pledge?
Yes! We do retailer pledges for brick & mortar game stores. Back for $1 and shoot us an email at [email protected] with your store’s name, address, and the approximate quantity of games that you would like.

Is there a discount for bulk pledges or group buys?
We will have a bulk discount for buying games by the case (6 copies). We’ll add this pricing soon. Note that this will include some discount on the game prices and have cheaper shipping, but the VAT costs will remain largely unchanged in a group buy.

What is the MSRP of Cellulose?
Cellulose will have a retail MSRP of $50 (not $39). It was entered incorrectly in the pledge level and can’t be changed.

What language(s) is Cellulose available in? Will you add a version in X language?
The Kickstarter only has Cellulose in English. There may be licensed versions in other languages in the future. The game uses iconography for all actions and card abilities, so the actual gameplay is largely language independent, once the rules are learned (the game spaces and cards all have names, but they are not mandatory for gameplay).

Can I back for $1 and decide later?
You can back at $1 to follow along if you are still deciding, but there won’t be an option to upgrade a $1 pledge at the Kickstarter price after the campaign ends. Pledges for at least one game will have access to KS pricing. (There will be preorders and “late pledges” after the campaign at a higher price, and any funds pledged will be applied.)

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
